Conference Wrap-Up

The ATEC Conference was a resounding success with papers being delivered over two days by delegates from all mainland states and from New Zealand. In delivering his excellent Keynote Address, Dr Wyn Morgan, who is Director of Teaching and Learning at Nottingham University, brought the audience up to date with recent trends in economics enrolments and teaching issues in the UK. In many ways these trends and issues reflect similar developments that are occurring in Australia today.

Many thanks to all that participated at ATEC 2009. We trust you enjoyed all that was on offer.

Special thanks and mention goes to our delightful Keynote Speaker, the presenters, the Organising Committee, the anonymous reviewers and the EFS student volunteers for all their work in bringing this conference to fruition.

We now look forward to what the 15th Annual ATEC will bring, at the University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand.

2009 ATEC Proceedings

QUT's School of Economics and Finance warmly invites your participation at the 14th Annual Australasian Teaching Economics Conference, being held on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 July, 2009

The conference theme for 2009 is: "What does the financial crisis tell us about teaching and learning economics?". Whilst papers relating to the conference theme are encouraged, the organisers welcome submission of papers concerning all aspects of economic education.

The Australasian conference aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning and promote the sharing of best practice within the economics discipline.

The program will consist of a keynote presentation from University of Nottingham's Director of Teaching and Learning and Associate Professor of Economics, Dr Wyn Morgan, as well as contributed papers over the two-day event. A conference dinner will be held Monday evening.

Dr Wyn Morgan's address is entitled, Crisis? What Crisis? Teaching in the Credit Crunch in the UK and it is sure to be of interest to all economics educators.

We hope you will be able to join us in Brisbane in July this year.
